A launchpad for DC youth to build
The College Gurl Foundation (CGF), in partnership with the Marion Barry Youth Leadership Institute (MBYLI), conducted the Futurepreneurs Program to equip DC youth with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to become the next generation of entrepreneurs. Participants gained hands-on experience in business planning, branding, marketing, financial literacy, and leadership, while receiving mentorship from experienced business professionals and community leaders. A signature element of the program is the pitch competition, where participants develop and present their business ideas to a panel of judges. This exciting challenge allows participants to apply what they’ve learned, receive constructive feedback, and showcase their creativity and innovation. Top ideas are recognized with awards, providing an added incentive for real-world entrepreneurial success.
